This letter pertains to your payment letter and worksheet for reimbursement(s) of the Perkins Loan Service Cancellation (TC). The Service Cancellation areas under the Federal Perkins Loan Program are: Teacher, Military, Volunteer, Law Enforcement, Child/ Family/Early Intervention, Nurse and Medical Technician.
Questions and Answers
Q. How will I receive the payment letter and worksheet?
A. Your payment letter and worksheet for your 2000-2001 reimbursement will be transmitted to you, in text format, through Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG).
Q. Where will I find the text file?
A. Your text file will be sent to the SAIG mailbox associated with your FISAP activities. If your school uses a third party servicer, you should make arrangements with them to receive the information.
Q. When will I receive the payment letter and worksheet?
A. Your payment letter and worksheet will be transmitted to your FISAP mailbox under message class FTCP03OP by May 24, 2002.
Q. Will I be able to find the TC payment letter and worksheet on the web?
A. Campus-Based Operations is planning to make them available on our new web site in the near future. Once the web site becomes available, you will be able to view and print your TC payment letter and worksheet by logging on to the Campus-Based web site at http://www.cbfisap.ed.gov/CBSWebApp/welcome.jsp. Select the self service link from the top navigation bar on the main menu. Your TC payment letter and worksheet will be posted in the Campus-Based notification section.
Q. When will you issue Perkins Service Loan Cancellation reimbursement payments?
A. We will issue your payment in June 2002 by electronic fund transfer to the bank account your institution designated.
Q. Will I receive the full amount to which I am entitled this year?
A. Because of insufficient funds in the fiscal year 2002 appropriation, your school will receive less than 100 percent of the reimbursement due it under Section 465 of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. The reimbursement calculation is based on information contained in your 2000-2001 Fiscal Operations Report and edit corrections.
