Dear Partner:
On behalf of the office of Student Financial Assistance (SFA), U. S. Department of Education, and its Operating Partners, I want to invite you to attend one of the three Electronic Access Conferences offered in 2001. These conferences, entitled "Access for All" will be held at John Ascuaga's Nugget, Reno, Nevada, November 5-7; the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, Baltimore, Maryland, November 27-29; and the Hyatt Regency, Chicago, Illinois, December 11-13.
We have an ambitious agenda to provide you with great learning opportunities. There are more than 50 sessions on SFA's electronic products, services, and Title IV delivery. We will offer most sessions more than once. We will provide a wide variety of sessions for both FFEL (offered by various members of the lending community and guarantee agencies) and Direct Loan, for beginners, advanced or technical users. You will also want to take advantage of the hands-on sessions and the PC Lab where you can use actual SFA software and visit SFA web sites. Staff will be available to assist with a wide range of financial aid topics. Don't miss out on this opportunity to experience first hand all the new SFA initiatives. There is no registration fee.
Conferees will learn more about the new Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) process, SFA to the Internet, E-Campus Based, and Electronic Promissory Notes. Also featured will be sessions on:
NSLDS
- Clearinghouse
- Mainframe Transmission & Processing
- Default Prevention
- Consolidation (FFEL/Direct Loan)
- Regulatory Updates
- EDExpress Changes and Technical Spec Updates
- Quality Analysis
- CommonLine
- Pell
- Fafsa on the Web
- Application Processing System Updates
- ElmNet
- Return of Title IV Funds
- SFA Web Sites for Schools and Students
- Direct Loans
Visit the conference web site http://fsaconferences.ed.gov/index.html for all the latest conference information. Once there you will find more detailed session and agenda information. You may register for the conference online. You also have the option to download a registration form and fax your registration. We encourage your immediate response, as attendance is limited for each conference. If you have questions regarding the registration process, please call Jackie Miller at (319) 339-6542 or send an email to confsuggest@ncs.com.
We have reserved a block of rooms at each conference location at special conference room rates. You can contact the hotel directly to reserve a room. You can find hotel room rates, telephone numbers and addresses as well as other information about reserving your hotel room on the conference web site. These conferences generate in excess of 1,000 participants per conference so be sure to make your hotel reservation early as the special conference rate rooms sell out quickly. Discounted travel to the conference sites has been arranged with American Airlines, Delta Airlines and United Airlines. You can find additional travel information and suggestions for getting to and from the hotel on the web site.
I hope to see you at one of the conferences. Please join us. Get to know the SFA staff, get involved in future initiatives, and make suggestions for future enhancements to SFA's software.
Sincerely,
Greg Woods
