SUMMARY: This letter is a reminder to Campus-Based Program participants
about the FISAP

Dear Financial Aid Administrator:

This letter is a reminder that in late July, 1999 we mailed to you, or your servicer, materials for the electronic submission of the Fiscal Operations Report for 1998-1999 and Application to Participate for 2000-2001 (FISAP) for the Campus-Based Programs. If you or your servicer did not receive this package, please call TIVWAN/NCS at (800) 615-1189 immediately.

Special Note

To mitigate potential problems associated with Y2K, we are requesting that you correct your FISAP errors before submitting your data. The Department’s Mitigation Plan directs us to calculate simulated awards for your institution in December 1999. If Y2K problems occur in the year 2000 and these problems cannot be resolved by mid-March 2000, the simulated awards calculated in December 1999 will become your institution’s final 2000-2001 allocation. Therefore, any errors that you fail to correct prior to December 21, 1999 could drastically impact your institution’s allocation. It would also be a good idea to back up your FISAP and other computer data to another media, to avoid the potential for Y2K problems.

Your FISAP must be submitted electronically through Title IV WAN by October 1, 1999. We will confirm your submission by placing a file named FCUA01OP in your mailbox. Your edited FISAP data will be placed in your mailbox by November 15, 1999 with the file name FIDT01OP. If you do not receive your edited data by November 26, 1999, please contact UAL (Universal Automation Labs) at (301) 565-0032.

If you have any questions regarding the Department’s Mitigation Plan for calculated simulated awards, contact Dorothy M. Proctor at (202) 708-7746.

Sincerely,

Michele Selvage, Director
Institutional Financial Management
