DCLPublicationDate: 1/1/95 Student Financial Assistance Programs is pleased to announce two videoconferences to be presented during the months of February and March 1995. The videoconferences, presented free of charge to all postsecondary institutions by the U.S. Department of Education, will offer current information on the following topics: February 10, 1995 The 1995-96 Updates to EDExpress (1:00 - 4:00 PM EST) (Application Entry, Packaging, and Direct Loans) March 16, 1995 Direct Loan Servicing (1:00 - 3:00 PM EST) Each videoconference will be presented by a team consisting of Department of Education and, contractor staff, along with school experts. The videoconferences will be interactive, offering participants the opportunity to use a toll-free number or FAX to question the panel of presenters. The February and March videoconferences will be broadcast on the following satellites: KU Band - Galaxy 7, (91 degrees West), Transponder 1, Vertical Downlink Frequency 11720 Mhz Audio at 6.2 and 6.8 C Band - Telesat Anik E 2 (107.3 degrees West), Transponder 2A, Horizontal Downlink Frequency 3760 Mhz Audio at 6.2 and 6.8 Enclosed is a form to register for each videoconference. If you wish to register as a host site, please include the specific address of the building in which the videoconference will be received. We will provide schools with a list of remote (receiving) sites by way of the Postsecondary Education Network (PEN) and the SFA Bulletin Board. If you are unable to access the remote site information electronically, please call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4-FEDAID for information about the remote site nearest to you. Schools wishing to travel to a host site should contact that site's coordinator to indicate that they will attend. Written materials for each videoconference will be mailed to the remote site coordinator for distribution. The materials may be reproduced as needed. If you are unable to view the videoconferences live, you may borrow a copy of each videoconference on videotape, along with the supporting materials. Call 1-800-4-FEDAID (toll-free) one week following each videoconference to borrow a tape of that conference.
