December 1994 ACTION LETTER #6 GEN-94-48 SUMMARY: The Title IV Institution Code List of Participating Institutions for the 1995-96 Award Year. Dear Colleague: Enclosed is the 1995-96 Title IV Institution Code List containing the unique codes assigned by the Department to all institutions participating in the Title IV student aid programs. The list is organized by state, and alphabetically by institutions within each state. These codes will be used by students applying for financial aid with the 1995-96 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA). The FASFA instructs students to list the colleges they wish to receive their application information by name and by Title IV Code, and to check with their college financial aid office, the high school counselor's office, or the public library to look up the Title IV code. Use of the Title IV code will significantly improve the student's ability to communicate college identifications accurately, will avoid errors caused by confusing over similar college names, and speed application processing.
