This session explores basic computer security concepts and one of the fastest growing crimes in the United States, identity theft. Learn prevention techniques that will help you protect sensitive information and create a more secure computing environment. Topics include an overview of information security, data handling procedures, social engineering, identity theft practices, computer viruses, and an explanation of some new threats facing computer users. Office of the Inspector General (OIG) staff will also be on hand to answer questions and to talk about real life identity theft cases.
