Learn about the federal methodology and how to calculate an Expected Family Contribution (EFC). This is a two-part session. Part One will focus on the principles that guide need analysis and the theory behind the treatment of income and assets in the formulas. Part Two will include actual case studies and hand calculations that demonstrate how each of the FAFSA data elements affects the EFC calculation.
