We are pleased to provide you with the latest draft of the 2003-2004 FAFSA dated 08-21-02. Changes since the previous draft include:
Page 1:
- Added a reference to the use of e-mail addresses
- Updated state deadlines
Page 2:
- Added clarification on who may have otherwise been eligible to file a 1040A or 1040EZ to the notes for questions 38 and 73
- Increased the value of an exemption from $2,900 to $3,000 in the notes for questions 41 and 76
- Removed the Simplified Needs Test language from the notes for questions 47-48 (during the comment period and focus groups, we heard that adding the Simplified Needs Test language made the instructions more cumbersome for applicants)
Page 5:
- Added data element 60, Parent's marital status date
Page 7:
- Added clarification to the notes for questions 59-83 that "Grandparents and legal guardians are not parents."
