p. AVG-13

Under the section for questions 50 and 51, the years in the parenthetical phrase should be 2002 and 2003.

p. AVG-31

Volume 1 -- Student Eligibility

Description

Location

Under Ability-To-Benefit test, the second paragraph notes that the tests have been updated to be correct as of September 2002. The sentence about using previous passing scores until June 18, 2002 has been deleted and a sentence has been added stating that the ACT assessment may be used only until January 2, 2003.

p. 1-5

Under the ACT Assessment, it has been noted that the test will be acceptable only until January 2, 2003.

p. 1-7

At the end of the paragraph just before the section on the automatic zero EFC, the sentence "You may use either EFC when determining financial need" has been removed. Schools should use the primary EFC for students who qualify for the simplified needs test because it will always be equal to or lower than the secondary EFC.

p. 1-72

The maximum EFC for receiving a Pell grant given at the end of the fourth paragraph should be 3800 and not 4000.

p. 1-117

Volume 2 -- Institutional and Program Eligibility

Description

Location

Under Week of instruction/instructional time the first bullet following the second paragraph should read:

"For nonterm and nonstandard term credit hour programs using credit hours but not offered in a semester, trimester, or quarter system, a week of instructional time occurs when within a consecutive seven-day period there is at least:

  • 12 hours of regularly scheduled instruction or examinations; or

  • after the last scheduled day of classes for a payment period, at least 12 hours of study for final examinations. This requirement is commonly known as the 12 hour rule."
