Subject: Live Internet Webinar - Using EDExpress to Process Direct Loans
Summary: This letter announces Federal Student Aid's instructor-led, online training session on using the EDExpress for Windows software to process Direct Loans.
Dear Colleague:We are pleased to announce instructor-led, online training that provides detailed information about using the EDExpress for Windows software to process William D. Ford Federal Direct Loans (Direct Loans). This training, intended for financial aid office personnel who are new users of the EDExpress Direct Loan module, was first offered in May 2010. Due to high demand for this information, we are offering the webinar again in June and July 2010.
The webinar provides a complete overview of the EDExpress Direct Loan module and includes information about the following software functions and processes:
- Setup
- Loan Origination
- Disbursements
- Exporting Origination and Disbursement Records
- Modifying Disbursement Information
- Multiple Entry
- Reports
Federal Student Aid staff will present this information in a 90-minute session offered on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. (ET) and once again on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. (ET).

Advance registration is required for this training and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Note: Training participants should have a basic understanding of the Direct Loan Program before attending this webinar. We strongly recommend that participants first attend the Direct Loan Webinar Training Suite, particularly the session "Direct Loan Programmatic Primer." This session introduces concepts, terminology, and other information needed to understand how the Direct Loan Program works and how to manage and administer the program at a school.
