OUTAGE ALERT – StudentAid.gov Maintenance Nov. 17–18, 2024

In addition to the regular StudentAid.gov maintenance window on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will have an extended maintenance window that will continue until 5 a.m. Eastern time (ET) on Monday, Nov. 18.

  • The StudentAid.gov maintenance window is scheduled from 1–11 a.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 17. Users will be unable to log in, create an account, or access certain site functionality during this time.

  • From 11 a.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 17 until 5 a.m. ET on Monday, Nov. 18, users may access the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form. However, they will need to provide federal tax information manually. Applicants may wish to complete the application after the outage is over. In addition, users may not submit an income-driven repayment (IDR) plan application or a Loan Consolidation application during this time.
