Awards for each of the federal student aid programs are based on some form of financial need, beginning with cost of attendance (COA). Calculating, awarding, and disbursing the proper amounts for the various Title IV programs is often conducted using student aid software programs. FSA provides schools with free access to EDExpress to perform these operations.
The EDExpress for Windows software is a PC application that processes, packages, and manages Title IV student financial aid records. The U.S. Department of Education (ED) provides EDExpress to post-secondary educational institutions that participate in its Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) process.
