Training on New Audit Guide

The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA), Governmental Audit Quality Center (GAQC) is offering a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Web event that should be of interest to auditors that perform audits under the U.S. Department of Education (ED) Audit Guide titled, Guide for Audits of Proprietary Schools and for Compliance Attestation Engagements of Third-Party Servicers Administering Title IV Programs (Guide). The event is being co-sponsored by ED's Office of Inspector General (ED-OIG) and the GAQC to assist auditors in better understanding recent revisions to the Guide, as well as other important auditing considerations.

Follow this link toRegister now for the December 13th Web event.

You will hear directly from ED-OIG subject matter experts and firm representatives with experience in performing these audits. Attend this event to:

  • Get an overview of the key changes made to the Guide and frequently asked questions;
  • Have an opportunity to get the perspective of firm representatives and their experiences in using the Guide within their practices; and
  • Learn about common audit quality issues and areas of highest risk.

An open archive of the Web event will be posted to the GAQC Web site after the live event so that auditors that are not able to make the live event can have access to the information. No continuing professional education credit is available for listening to the archive. Finally, keep in mind that this event will not cover issues surrounding single audits of governmental and not-for-profit entities that participate in Student Financial Assistance and other ED programs.
