Subject: ED's Privacy Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) Regional Meeting in Minneapolis, MN on August 7, 2017

Join the U.S. Department of Education’s (ED’s) Privacy Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) for a regional meeting in Minneapolis, MN on Monday, August 7, 2017. Federal Student Aid representatives as well as representatives from ED’s privacy office will discuss data security and breach requirements, interesting findings regarding undiscovered postsecondary data breaches, and share best practices through a data breach simulation activity. Additionally, we will review and share the latest guidance from ED regarding data sharing, the use of educational technology, and the use of financial aid data for program evaluation and research.

The draft agenda is below but suggestions are welcome for additional topics to cover.

The session will take place Monday, August 7, 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Minneapolis Marriot City Center Hotel prior to the SHEEO Higher Education Policy Conference. You may secure your spot at this event by sending an email to Lauren Wise at lauren.wise@aemcorp.com.
