Subject: 2016-2017 SAR Comment Codes and Text (May 2016 Update)
We are pleased to announce the posting of an update to the 2016-2017 SAR Comment Codes and Text reference guide. The reference guide is designed as a stand-alone guide, as well as a companion to the 2016-2017 EDE Technical Reference. The guide includes a description of changes to the SAR comments for 2016-2017, and also provides the complete text for all 2016-2017 comments.
In the May 2016 version of the guide, we updated the action needed for comment code 013 to update the Correction Application Coordinator’s phone number to 1-800-433-3243. We revised comment codes 125, 127, and 128 to update 2016-2017 corrections deadline references. We revised the mailing address referenced in comment code 139 and the agency name referenced in comment code 316. We also removed comment 245. For more information, consult the Change History Table added to the beginning of the guide.
In addition to its current availability on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site, the guide will also be available in the next several days from the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at https://www.fsadownload.ed.gov.
